Raindrop Technique
Aromatherapy with Vita Flex and massage techniques, bringing structural and electrical whole body alignment.
Raindrop Technique was developed as a result of research indicating that muscle spasms and inflammation-producing bacteria and viruses cause many forms of spinal misalignments. Once a body is properly aligned, it can function more efficiently and effectively. The Raindrop Technique combines three modalities: Aromatherapy, Vita Flex, and simple "massage" techniques.
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils used on the body for their influences on the tissues of the body, as well as via the sense of smell. The oils used in the Raindrop Technique are specifically chosen to address the muscles, bones, joints and conditions that impact on them such as inflammation, spasticity, viruses and bacteria. The essential oils used are organic and not diluted. The aroma of the essential oils has the potential of working on the emotional aspects related to the problem via the limbic system (the processing center of reason, emotion and smell) within the brain.
Vita Flex originated in Tibet long before acupuncture was discovered, and was given its name by Stanley Burroughs. There are 5,000 Vita Flex points of control, compared to only 365 acupuncture points. Vita Flex means "vitality through the reflexes". It consists of a specialized form of digital electrical stimulation using the pads of the fingers in a rolling motion to fire voltages into the body through reflex points. It can be applied all over the body by a pressure with a pull of the finger and a slight twist of the wrist.
The essential oils do their work no matter what, but knowing what oils to use and where to place them is of great importance. However, the additional factor that helps to enhance this technique is the facilitator... Intent when doing this work, and a state of well-being (mentally and physically) can have a profound effect on the receiver.
The Purpose of Raindrop Technique is to stimulate every organ, muscle, and bone of the body at a cellular level through essential oils. It boosts the immune system, bringing the body into structural/electrical balance, and enables the release of toxins or disease wherever they may be lodged - including those illnesses lodged in the mind and emotions. Raindrop Technique is non-secular, and it is a science. Raindrop Technique stimulates detoxification of the body. If the colon, liver, and kidneys are saturated with toxins and unable to function normally, the skin becomes the third organ of excretion. Working along the liver and kidney meridians with special hand techniques helps release toxins through these organs as well.
The client is the principle participant in, and the means of their own healing. The facilitator is but a channel assisting the client to mobilize his or her own healing powers. The client should center him or herself and feel the body as it adjusts and corrects itself. The client should breathe deeply in a relaxed fashion.
The maladies of the body and mind are in layers. During a Raindrop session, only those layers the client is ready and willing to release will be released - both physically and emotionally. Negative experiences are often our greatest teachers. That is the reason we sometimes hold on to them - because we still have something to learn from them. When the client feels something ready to be released, Dr. Young suggests this affirmation: "I lovingly and willingly release and let go of all that no longer serves me in a positive way".
Raindrop therapy is a complete modality in and of itself that reaches all levels of the body, mind and emotions. Raindrop Technique alone is sufficient to awaken the self-healing powers of the client, and does so in a way that delivers optimal benefit according to the readiness and willingness of the client at the time of treatment. At the completion of a Raindrop Technique session, the client will have been lifted to a delicate state of balance and receptivity to healing energies. If needed or desired, other healing modalities can be employed later when the Raindrop Technique has had time to complete its work.
Raindrop Technique stimulates detoxification of the body; therefore, it is crucial for the client to drink plenty of water following a therapy session and avoid toxic fluids such as soda, coffee or alcohol. A good rule to follow is to divide your weight in pounds by two and drink that number of ounces of pure water every day. Sometimes the detoxification process results in a bodily soreness, headache, sinus drainage, coughing, diarrhea, sleepiness, profuse sweating or a rash on the skin. While unpleasant, these symptoms are temporary and are merely an indication that the therapy is working. If the colon, liver, and kidneys are saturated with toxins and unable to function normally, the skin becomes the third organ of excretion - thus a rash. If that happens, stop using oils (if you are using any) and double your water intake. For the vast majority of Raindrop clients, their experience is one of improved well-being, relaxation, and increased energy. In some cases, chronic ailments have disappeared soon after the session.
Raindrop Technique can lead to permanent healing . The correction or healing of maladies will vary widely among clients according to their needs going into the session and their willingness to release what ails them. Not all problems can be solved in a single session. A state of ill health is usually the result of many years of accumulation of toxins and traumas - physical, mental, and spiritual. Each Raindrop session can potentially correct something, but to completely return to a state of perfect health may take a series of sessions over time - plus lifestyle changes in terms of diet, exercise, habits, and environment. Raindrop Technique cannot lead to permanent healing unless permanent changes are made by the client to eliminate the factors that led to the ill conditions in the first place. Raindrop Technique helps one cleanse the consequences of past negative activities, and affords one the opportunity to start fresh and get it right in the present and into the future.
Strong emotional releases can sometimes occur with Raindrop since the oils, when inhaled, go directly to the central brain that coordinates the memory of stored emotions. The oils also go directly to muscles, tissues, and organs throughout the body where emotions can also be stored in cellular memory. Essential oils can penetrate cellular membranes and release forgotten emotions.
The benefits from Raindrop may not all be apparent immediately following the session. Adjustments may continue throughout the week afterwards. Some clients experience a healing (occasionally dramatic) immediately upon receiving Raindrop. However, the completion of the benefits to the client's mind, body and emotions takes place over a period of hours and days following the session and may not all be evident right away. Furthermore, some of the benefits may be subtle and not noticed for some time. One can never predict in advance what benefits Raindrop may bring in a given session. Therefore, evaluation of the benefits received from Raindrop Technique may take several days to assess.
A word about skin sensitivities : Therapeutic grade essential oils being used in this Raindrop Technique are generally safe to apply directly to the skin without unpleasant reactions. However, people prone to allergies or whose bodies are in an acid condition, or who have high levels of toxins, may react to some oils. A rash can develop from too rapid a detoxification following Raindrop. If you are feeling too much heat from the oils applied, please alert the facilitator so that adjustments can be made.
Oils of Raindrop and Their Properties
THYME (Thymus vulgaris ) - is one of the most antiseptic essential oils. It contains thymol that has been studied for its effect on gingivitis and plaque-causing oral organisms. Thyme may be beneficial in helping to overcome fatigue and exhaustion after illness. It was used by the Egyptians for embalming and by ancient Greeks against infectious illnesses. Thyme has chemical constituents that are known to be anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, cardio-tonic, neuro-tonic, and utero-tonic.
Aromatic Influence : Helps supply energy in times of physical weakness and stress. It has also been thought to increase intelligence and aid concentration, uplifting and help to relieve depression, stimulate the respiratory system, and relieve spasms of asthma. It is good for bronchitis and pneumonia. Thyme also helps make a person feel more secure.
OREGANO (Origanum vulgare) - is one of the most powerful antimicrobial essential oils. Highly damaging to many kinds of viruses, it was recently shown in laboratory research conducted at Weber State University to have a 99% kill rate against in vitro colonies of Streptococcus pneumoniae . Oregano works in conjunction with thyme to strengthen the immune system and to attack bacteria and viruses. It may help to balance metabolism and support the respiratory system. Aromatic Influence : Strengthens one's feeling of security and is good for respiratory problems including asthma, bronchitis, and viral and/or bacterial pneumonia. It also gives one a feeling of completion.
BASIL (Osmium basilicum) - can be relaxing to muscles, including smooth muscles (those not subject to our voluntary control, such as the heart and digestive system). It may also soothe insect bites when applied topically, is beneficial for mental fatigue, and may help stimulate and sharpen the sense of smell. In England basil has been used (diluted) for treating herpes and shingles with success. The chemical constituents of basil have properties that are known to be anti-bacterial, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic (stomach/intestinal), antispasmodic (powerful), antiviral, decongestant (veins, arteries of the lungs, prostate), stimulant (nerves, adrenal cortex) and uplifting. Folklore: considered by the ancient Greeks as the "king of plants", basil was used to anoint kings. Hindus placed sprigs of basil on the chests of deceased loved ones to protect them from evil and provide safe passage into the next life. Due to its supposed aphrodisiac qualities, Italian women display basil to alert possible suitors, and the men would present the women with basil sprigs. Aromatic Influence : Helps one to maintain an open mind, and have a feeling of understanding.
WINTERGREEN (Gaultheria procumbens) - has chemical constituents that are known to be anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, disinfectant, and diuretic. This oil is great for removing discomfort associated with the inflammation of bones, muscles, and joints including arthritis and sciatica. It may also help cleanse the lymphatic system and is known for its ability to alleviate bone pain. It has cortisone-like action due to the high content of methyl salicylate (89%). Wintergreen essential oil is almost identical in chemical constituents to birch essential oil. The Native Americans and early European settlers enjoyed a tea that was flavored with birch bark or wintergreen. A synthetic methyl salicylate is now widely used as a flavoring agent, especially in "root beer', chewing gum, toothpastes, etc. In fact, the true essential oil is produced in such small quantities (compared to the very extensive uses of the synthetic methyl salicylate) that those desiring to use wintergreen essential oil for therapeutic uses should verify the source of their oil to make sure they have a true oil, not a synthetic one. It has also been used successfully for skin problems including eczema, acne, and blemishes. Aromatic Influence : Elevates, opens and increases awareness in the sensory system. Wintergreen also brings clarity.
CYPRESS (Cupressus sempervirens) - is used for its anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, and diuretic properties. It may function as a decongestant for the circulatory system and lymphatic system. Cypress is an astringent and helps to reduce overactive sweat and oil glands and is useful in mixtures to reduce fluid retention and cellulite. Cypress is a vasoconstrictor. Folklore: Roberta Wilson - "The evergreen branches of the cypress tree were considered symbolic of life after death". Sempervirens means "ever living". Aromatic Influence : Influences, strengthens, and helps ease the feeling of loss and aids in smoothing transitions. It creates a feeling of security, grounding, and it helps to heal emotions; and is soothing and relaxing. Cypress is particularly beneficial for those who suffer from respiratory problems, congestion or asthma.
MARJORAM (Origanum majorana) - is used for soothing muscles and the respiratory system. It also assists in calming the nerves, relieving cramps, aches and pains. It has chemical constituents that are antimicrobial and antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-infectious, and anti-spasmodic. Marjoram increases circulation by dilating the arteries (arterial vasodilator). Other uses for marjoram has been as a digestive stimulant, diuretic, sedative, any weakness, and helping during recovery from illness. Folklore: Known as the "herb of happiness" to the Romans and "joy of the mountains" to the Greeks, marjoram was used to decorate at both weddings and funerals. Not only would it warm both the body and the emotions, but also many believed it would increase longevity. It was also grown on gravesites to comfort the departed soul. Aromatic Influence : Promotes peace and sleep. Basil when inhaled has been suggested for anxiety, grief, respiratory distress, insomnia, migraine headaches, irritability, and over-active sex drive.
PEPPERMINT (Mentha piperita) - is one of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for soothing digestion. Published research documents its value for "Irritable Colon". Many scientists and doctors have also studied peppermint for a variety of uses, from its effect on the liver and respiratory systems to its ability to influence impaired taste and smell when inhaled, improve concentration and mental accuracy, and aid weight loss. It can calm and strengthen the nerves, reduce inflammation, and is supportive of the respiratory system. Peppermint is a typical first-aid essence as its effects usually set in fast. Nausea, sore throat, and travel sickness are symptoms that are traditionally countered with Peppermint oil. Folklore: Roberta Wilson "in Roman mythology, when Pluto professed his love for the nymph Mentha, his wife Persephone, afire with jealousy, crushed Mentha into dust on the ground. Pluto, unable to change her back, transformed her into a peppermint plant and gave her a fresh fragrance so that she would smell sweet whenever stepped upon". In Vitro studies show peppermint oil can inhibit and destroy influenza A viruses, herpes simplex, mumps virus, streptococcus pyogenes, staphylococcus cusaureus, pseudomonas aeruginosa, and candida albicans. Peppermint has been used to dissolve gallstones by lowering bile cholesterol levels, while raising bile acid and lecithin levels in the gallbladder. Aromatic Influence : It is purifying and stimulating to the conscious mind. "Inhaled it cools a fever, decongests the sinuses, calms the mind, soothes a headache, acts as an antidepressant, stimulates the nervous system and mind, calms the tendency for your mind to race along, acts on the 7 th Chakra and can be used to increase spirituality and possibly clairvoyance during meditative states". Dr. Dembar of the University of Cincinnati discovered in a research study that inhaling peppermint oil increased the mental accuracy of the students tested by up to 28%. Peppermint oil is extremely useful when you are hot either from a fever, hot flashes, or hot weather. It also helps a person feel empowered.
VALOR (spruce, rosewood, blue tansy, frankincense) - helps balance electrical energies within the body, giving courage, confidence and self-esteem. It builds the bridge between the body and the oils, allowing higher frequency oils to raise the frequency of the body; thus promoting physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Valor brings calmness, peace, and relaxation; and has shown to change anaerobic mutated cells back to their aerobic natural state. It has been found to help the body self-correct its balance and alignment. Spruce - grounds the body, creating the balance and the opening necessary to receive and to give. This oil assists in the dilation of the bronchial tract to improve the oxygen exchange, and is known to help release emotional blocks. Rosewood - soothing to the skin, relaxing to the body, creates a feeling of peace and gentleness. Blue Tansy - cleanse the liver and calm the lymphatic system to help rid one of anger and promote a feeling of self-control.
Frankincense - oxygenates the pineal gland and pituitary glands, and helps to promote a positive attitude. Aromatic Influence : Helps to balance the electrical system and promote emotional balance.
AROMA SIEZ (Basil, marjoram, lavender, peppermint, cypress) - applied topically, it may help relax, calm, and relieve tight, sore, tired and aching muscles resulting from sports injuries, fatigue and stress. Lavender is oil that has traditionally been known to balance the body and to work wherever there is a need. It has antispasmodic and analgesic properties. It may help with sprains, sore muscles, headaches, and general healing. ORTHO EASE MASSAGE OIL (Wintergreen, juniper, marjoram, red thyme, vetiver. Peppermint, Eucalyptus australiana, lemongrass with wheat germ oil, grape seed oil, sweet almond oil, olive oil and vitamin E) - was created after extensive testing and has been used in European hospitals. It is designed to soothe muscle aches and minor swelling. Wheat germ oil - high in natural E & B; natural antioxidant; useful for reducing scar tissue and stretch marks; acts as a preservative. Grape Seed oil - anti-friction. Olive oil - moisturizing agent. Vitamin E - natural antioxidant and protects and promotes regeneration of skin. Juniper - antispasmodic; helps reduce muscle aches/pains. Vetiver - antispasmodic and locally warming; good for circulation; good for arthritis, muscular rheumatism, and sprains. Eucalyptus - anti-inflammatory. Lemongrass - helps repair connective tissue; when combined with marjoram it helps to stimulate the agents in the tissue to rejuvenate and reconnect. V-6 MIXING OIL - combines food-grade vegetable oils for mixing with essential oils to create blends, formulas, and massage oils. Grape seed oils (50x greater than Vitamin E, and 20x greater than Vitamin C), sunflower seed oil, wheat germ oil, and Vitamin E are nurturing to the skin as natural antioxidants.
